Four "Creepy" Stars
What a creepy book this turned out to be as I read it with a couple of buddies over on the Goodreads group Castle Dracula.
A small taste of what lies within without giving away spoilers:
A baby sitting job is available for a woman that just moves to London, but when she arrives not all is what it seems and she ends up not only having to endure a haunting in the home, but things become even more twisted for her after she leaves the home.
That is about all I can give on a taste as you will need to read my review over on Goodreads.
Thoughts:
I love reading books by Amy Cross as I have found out that most of the time the blurb of the book will be about one thing, but then throughout the story there will be other things that occur within the story that you never expect until you are in the story itself.
With this book the story escalates after the main character leaves the home where she was baby sitting and it drove the story up to full throttle which interesting enough my buddies and I all went into a reading frenzy as we basically finished the book all at the same time! That never happens on buddy reads (at least not for me) as normally it is more paced out, but we all started reading it at the same time and finished about the same time which is quite a feat considering all three of us basically finished the book in 24 hours more or less!
That is what books by Amy Cross can do to you as they will pull you in and then slam dunk you into your comfy chair making you want to continue reading no matter what! Of course, like with any Amy Cross book there is going to sometimes be extreme situations and usually there is some blood throughout her stories.
This book was no different as there were some moments that were rough to get through but perseverance keeps making you move forward to the end of the book as you need to see the outcome or the wrap-up. Though with this book it kind of ended where there is a thought of maybe there could be another book eventually - it didn't really end on a cliff hanger - it just seems to be left opened where something else could happen later on down the line. It will be interesting to see if that happens.
