The Evil Within The House by Thomas Michael Thomas

Four "Occult Chiller" Stars

Spooky Story!

A small taste of what lies within:

Jake and Clarence are upset when their friend, Terrell commits suicide as they don't understand why he would do that so they decide to see if they can talk to him through a Ouija board to find out some answers to their questions. But what the two friends don't realize is that sometimes who you reach out to through a Ouija board is not who you want and the friends end up pulling "something" else through from the other side!

That is about all I can give on a small taste without giving away spoilers so if you want to know more then go read this book!

Thoughts:

This was my first time reading this author and I felt that the creepiness of the book seeped under my skin! The feeling of dread and suspense as the characters were playing around with the Ouija board just gave me some anxiety while reading the story as I knew something was going to happen.

I was not disappointed with this story as the whole book was drenched in the occult with lots of shadowy characters that gave me some really weird dreams. I liked the characters within this book though I think the book would be considered YA as it has that feel to it, but all in all the story would probably be good to read around Halloween time. Looking forward to seeing what else this author has out there.

Five "Dark and Scary Demon" Stars

Creepy and Spooky!

A small taste of what lies within:

A young girl named Heaven is on the streets of San Francisco as her mother passed away but little does the girl know that something bad is terrorizing the streets as an evil serial killer is on a collision course with Heaven and will stop at nothing to cause terror within the town!

That is about all I can give on a small taste without giving away spoilers so if you want to know more than go read this book!

Thoughts:

This was one scary and creepy story as it goes deep into the occult which will spook you out of your skin! Loved the characters in this one as they were fleshed out well and the shivering terror that lies deep within the story is slowly brought forth in dread and suspense!

This is a big book with 500 pages but the spookiness of the story kept me buried within its pages and the terror of the demon along with all the characters of what they went through kept me reading this book at the speed of light!

The author keeps the suspense and horror slowly building then the story takes off into demonic terror! Another great book by this author and this one was right down my "shivering street" as I love reading about occult stories that keep me on the edge of my seat and giving me bad dreams. Had some creepy wild dreams with this story!

They Stalk the Night by Brian Moreland

Five "Terrifying Creature" Stars

Creature Feature Action!

A small taste of what lies within:

The town of Hellum is surrounded by forests and not too many people venture out into the woods as something roams the depths of the forest. The habitat of a fierce creature is awoken when a man (Mason Thorpe) wants to build a pipeline through the area and him along with his crew of men start tearing up the forests surrounding the town. No one will be safe when the creature starts wrecking havoc in the town as what Thorpe doesn't realize is that they have brought alive an angry creature that will kill anything in its path!

That is about all I can give on a small taste without giving away spoilers so if you want to know more then go read this book!

Thoughts:

This story slowly builds up tension and fear in the beginning of the book then starts to pick up steam as more things start happening. There are quite a few characters in this story with the townspeople and the pipeline crew, but the book never feels crowded with characters. The descriptive details of the town and its people are described with beautiful clarity that brings the reader straight into the story.

While reading the story I felt like I was drawn right into the scenes and could feel the emotions and fear that the characters were feeling. The author, Brian Moreland brings the story alive with the backdrop of the town and brings the terror and horror of the creature into your room!
