A small taste of what lies within:
The Royal family of Pacifica wants the finest meals set before them as they rule their kingdom and everything better be up to standards as if not someone just might end up on the menu. Garren oversees that the harvesting of the donors is done right and as much as he really dislikes his job as being the overseer, he cannot complain ever as something might happen to his family or him. Either keep his mouth shut or suffer the consequences. Best to keep his mouth shut.
That is about all I can give on a small taste as this book is super short and basically a 30 minute read.
Thoughts:
I read this book back in early 2021 and it took me deep into the stomach pits of hell!
This book was really a rough read as there are more emotions in this book as you can feel the thoughts of the character, Garren as he has to deal with the situation before him.
The author, Jeffrey Caston, just weaves his magic of pulling you right into the story and keeping you literally encased in the book. As much as you want to look away as the events take place in the book you just cannot as you have to keep working your way forward to see what will happen next!
Also this book follows on the heels of the first book and I was able to get more of a sense of the storyline as the author goes into more detail of what exactly is taking place through this series.
The descriptive details of the storyline along with the gore and blood splatter will make you want to run to the closet for your gore suit! Yes you need a gore suit and you better be well covered in one as when the blood starts to fly you are going to feel it!
