Bad Moon Rising (Pine Deep #3) by Jonathan Maberry

🌟🌟🌟🌟

Four "Creatures of Terror" Stars

Night Terrors Walking!

A teeny tiny taste of what lies within:

Pine Deep is once again the center of attention as Malcolm Crow and the town lay waste to all that is evil! The town bands together and fights off the creatures of the night!

I know that was a real short taste but I cannot say more without giving away spoilers so if you want to know more then go read this trilogy.

Thoughts:

The author wraps this book up tight and brings everything to a climatic end. One of the best things I loved about this trilogy is that Maberry does a full recap of what happened in books one and two before you start reading the story. When I say "full recap" I mean he gives major details to refresh your memory of all that happened which was great for me as I hadn't read book two since 2022 so things become fuzzy after awhile.

There are lots of things that happen within this final book and the pace was fast which almost starts right away as the book goes into overdrive early in the story and keeps moving at a high rate of speed throughout the book.

Don't Look Back (Fenton House #1) by Ben Cheetham

🌟🌟🌟🌟

Four "Spooky Shivers" Stars

Haunting Horrors!

A small taste of what lies within:

Adam and Ella Piper move out of the city and into the country to start over but they don't realize that the house they move into is haunted. Though Adam does not believe in such things and though rumors surround the place Adam denies that anything is happening in the house. The ghosts though have other plans and they will make themselves known one or another and make a believer out of Adam!

That is about all I can give on a small taste without giving away spoilers so if you want to know more then go read this book!

Thoughts:

This was my first time reading this author and it won't be my last! This story starts out a little slow as it gives a small world building background but then as time goes on the pace picks up a little faster. The story reminded me of a classic haunting story and I thought the characters were well rounded. The atmosphere of the haunting whispers across the back of your mind a you go deep into this haunted tale.

Looking forward reading the rest of the books as I am curious where this author will be leading me.

Smile: Behind the Lens of the Dating Game Killer by Ryan Green

🌟🌟🌟🌟

Four "Evil Killer" Stars

I am not doing a small taste just giving out thoughts about the book.

Thoughts:

This story was the most in-depth I have ever read of the Dating Game killer. Even though the story was less than 200 pages the author was able to get tons of information crammed into the book about the killer and all the victims. This killer was one smooth talker and was able to lure his victims easily to go with him as he used a photography angle to get them. What the victims families went through was sad and at least the killer is no longer around. All of the things the killer did to his victims was shocking and disturbing.

This book is not for the faint of heart, however if you like to read true crime stories and like to see how justice is served then pick up this book, but be warned - there are some graphic details within this story.

If you want to read a full informational story on this killer this is the book. I am going to check out more of the author's work as I would parallel him to the late true crime author Ann Rule with details and background research.
